Audit and revisjon

Statutory audit, voluntary audit and independent reviews — delivered together with our partner audit firm registered with Finanstilsynet, with the preparation handled entirely by us.

Assurance

Independent assurance, without the year-end drama

Norwegian law separates the roles: the accountant keeps the books, the state-authorised auditor gives the opinion. That is a strength — but only if the two sides work to the same plan instead of e-mailing each other in June.

Statutory audit engagements are delivered by our partner audit firm, registered with Finanstilsynet. We prepare the file, answer the auditor's requests, and manage the timetable so the audit runs as a scheduled process rather than a crisis.

What the service includes

  • Assessment of whether your company is actually subject to statutory audit
  • Statutory audit of the annual accounts through our registered partner firm
  • Voluntary audit where a bank, investor or public grant body requires it
  • Agreed-upon procedures — grant reporting, project accounts, client funds
  • Limited review of interim accounts for investors and lenders
  • Financial due diligence support when buying or selling a company
  • Audit-readiness review: we find the weak points before the auditor does
What you get

Concrete deliverables, not good intentions

Clear scope and fee

Agreed before we start, with a written engagement letter — no open-ended hourly surprises.

A prepared audit file

Reconciliations, specifications and documentation collected in advance, in one structure.

Management letter

The findings translated into concrete actions, ranked by what actually matters.

Independence respected

Preparation and opinion are kept strictly separate, as the rules require.

How it runs

The way we deliver it

A fixed sequence, the same for every client, so nothing depends on someone remembering it.

Price: Audit engagements are quoted individually after scoping. A small AS with clean books and a full-year engagement with us typically lands in the NOK 25 000–55 000 range. Audit-readiness reviews start at NOK 9 500.

Scoping

We confirm the audit duty, the reporting requirements and who needs the report — and by when.

Planning and risk

Materiality, risk areas and a request list agreed in autumn, not in May.

Fieldwork

The auditor tests, we deliver documentation. Questions are answered in days, not weeks.

Reporting

Auditor's report, management letter and a debrief with the board on what to improve.

FAQ

Questions we get about audit and revisjon

Small Norwegian companies can opt out of statutory audit when they stay under the thresholds set in the Companies Act for revenue, balance sheet total and number of employees. The rules are updated from time to time, and the decision must be made by the general meeting. We check your figures against the current thresholds and tell you where you stand — in writing.

No, and we would not want to. Independence rules keep those roles apart. We do the accounting and the preparation; the audit opinion comes from the registered audit firm we work with. You still have one point of contact and one timetable.

Voluntary audit or a limited review is usually enough, and it is faster and cheaper than a full statutory audit. Tell us what the counterparty actually requires and we will propose the lightest engagement that satisfies it.

A structured walk-through of your ledger, reconciliations and documentation before the auditor arrives. We list what is missing, what is weakly documented and what will be questioned — so the audit itself is shorter and the fee lower.
